Joe Barron
Hello, my name is Joe Barron, currently I have not had the pleasure and privilege to work in the field of education. The limited experience that I can claim in my educational career took place during my undergraduate degree when completing my educational blocks as a student teacher. Furthermore, I am currently working on a Doctorate Degree in Bilingual education at Texas A&M University-Kingsville, and am proud to claim that I have obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology with a support field in Spanish. In addition, I have also obtained my a Master of Science degree in Educational Administration from TAMUK. Having lived in the south Texas area for a great majority of my life has provide me with a great deal of experience in bilingual education. My experience with bilingual education comes first from a personal experience and perspective. My experience with bilingual education in south Texas started in 1992 when I was brought to south Texas from Mexico. As a ELL (English Language Learner) student I was quickly immersed into the culture and the English language. Fifteen years later my story has changed and evolved; however, today there are many ELLs (English Language Learners) that reside in our south Texas area, and are in need of more efficient, and prolific ways to learn the English language. As a bilingual education advocate and educator, I commit myself to bridging the gap by making efforts to explore and search for more efficient ways to assist this growing population in our area.
